As I see it, both churches, as a whole, are populated with people whose entire purpose in seeking positions in the ministry was to duck out of the Vietnam war. As a whole, this population sees no truths to be self-evident, and as a whole, the teachings of both of these churches SHOULD NOT be confused with TRUE Christianity, as the teachers and the shepherds are more lost than the parishoners.
It's truly sad that such a reputable church as the UMC has fallen this far.
:( ttt
True, but there is hope within the United Methodist Church. The Good News movement, is a "voice for repentance, an agent for reform, and a catalyst for renewal within the United Methodist Church. By Gods grace, we will proclaim and demonstrate the power and effectiveness of historic Christianity as emphasized in Wesleyan doctrine and practice."
I am not a United Methodist, but I have many friends who are UM pastors. There is hope, but they face constant battles against the liberal wing.
Both churches have been under attack for years by cabals of gay seminarians.....a UMC bishop died a few years ago, of AIDS, which kinda tells you how high up the rot has gone. The Anglican bishops in Africa and the Third World are fighting a valorous rearguard action against the English and American "reconcilers" (gays), and they may yet pull it out if American Episcopals realize their chanceries are in the hands of the enemy and kick over the table and shoot out the lights like the Southern Baptists did.
The Catholics' pederast problem has been outed, but the Episcopalians and UMC will continue to rot.....and the press will help the conspirators by continuing to cover up. They only went for the bait when the Catholic peds came out, because it was a chance to attack the Catholic Church -- the Big One. The media Leftists' strategy has been to pour obloquy on the Church hierarchy, and keep telling everyone that the miscreants are "pedophiles" when in fact they're homosexual pederasts -- John Spong's kind of people.
