What the heck does Barbara Mikkelson mean by saying that much of the public think that Bush is not the brightest sort of fellow? WHAT public? Leftists? Socialists? Wouldn't they love for that to be true? He had higher grades in school than Gore the policy wonk. He keeps outsmarting the liberals and they can't stand it.
Otherwise, it's a good article and thank you, Doug.

Barbara had to get in a little dig, even while defending him in this situation. It must have wounded her deeply to have to correct this.

I still laugh at the memory of seeing Gore asking who the bust of one of our past presidents was. Or the time I was watching the satellite feed and heard Clinton yelling at Chelsea. Or the time he smacked one of the aides for not doing something the way Clinton wanted it done. It only started at those early examples and continued throughout the next 8 years. But, of course, since people didn't see those things on the nightly news, they never happened.

I am glad this came out. I had heard this story and I was puzzled about this as Presiden Bush is so disciplined that I doubt he would have done something like this. This needs to be read by a lot of people.
