The Jews had lived in Germany for almost 1000 years. Even in the camps they would be heard muttering that they are not OSTJUDEN, Jews from the East. They really believed that being so fully integrated in German society that they would be protected. In many ways they were more German than the Germans. Even when Jews converted to Christianity they were still on the rolls as Jews.

Jew hatred will exist as long as there are Jews. Until Moshiach comes, we Jews will be hated by some segment of world society. The comfort of the Jewish people is that while we have been oppressed and attacked we are still here and will remain so. Am Yisroel Chaim! As it says in the Passover Hagaddah- in each and every generation they rise up against us to utterly destroy us, but the Holy One blessed be He rescues us from their hands. Our existence is a testimony to His miracles. May we merit to usher in the era of Moshiach NOW!
