Jews prospered quite well in Western Europe until the Nazi occupation and Holocaust took their wealth along with many of their lives. Despite those setbacks, in just over 50 years, Jewish contributions to society in many fields is unparallelled when given the opportunity.
In addition to the US, look at what has occurred in Israel while the surrounding Arab nations have floundered.

I am an Anglo-Saxon purist. There is no question in my mind that I live better because the Jew has been given/earned the right to contribute to my society.
