Yeah, might just have to do that. Been a long time since I felt like a real man!
Point is, if we all can't agree on the value of an animal's life, and agree on definition of terms, we ain't going to agree on what is ok to do with an animal's life. The discussion can't start anywhere else and progress to any sort of rational conclusion. You put a lot higher value on animal life than we believe is warranted so discussing it is all pretty futile.
I can't believe it...... can you?

PETA has sponsored and directly endorsed acts of domestic terrorism. They have put up money to defend those who inflict property damage at the behest of animals. They violate property rights. They violate anti-harassment laws. If they knew that you wore leather they would throw red paint on you, no differently than they would one of us.
SunGirl, it's been a while since you've put anything on here, but you really, really need to post something, anything, that justifies your membership in PETA. It's time to put your mouth where your money is, and pony up an excuse for your support. Since you like to tell stories, come up with one in which PETA has done something that was to the benefit of both man and animal.
As for the value of an animal's life, I'd have to say that some are much more valuable than others. For instance, a deer is tasty and excellent when served with a full-bodied red wine. Feral cats are tough enough that they don't even make good jerky. Neither holds the cure for cancer or supports any of the rediculous arguments put forth by the 'animals are more valuable than humans' crowd. I will never call those people animal rights supporters so long as true animal rights groups like Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, and other positive, proactive groups exist.

"I made a mistake... can't we just move on?"
"Officer, can't we just all get along?" Officer: "Excuse me Ms. Brady."
Sarah: "I mean, sheesh, maybe it was a 'straw man purchase', but I don't have the time to read all the legislation against guns that I try to get passed."
"I mean you should know that I preach 'do as I say, not as I do'. C'mon guy, can't you give me a break? You know my husband is an idiot."
Sad, but true.

Birds. Have you ever eaten a quail, wild turkey, duck, goose? Tastes great.
Snakes. I've had rattle snake in Texas and it was great.
Squirrels. The first time I had squirrel was in Florida and it was very tasty.
I'm also a fisherman and I eat every single fish I catch. I fillet everything and what's left I use as fertilizer in my garden and I get some really nice tomatoes and other veggie's from it. I can dig up some worms and go to a friends pond and catch some really nice sunfish and bass for next to nothing. I can also buy a pound of squid for $1.89 and fish at a local pier and catch my limit of 50 croakers 12-22" every week and still have a 1/2lb of squid left over for next week. I eat a hell of a lot of fish and what I don't eat I freeze for winter.
You think I shouldn't have that right to catch my own food, that I should go purchase it at a store. Well the amount that I eat, it'd cost mea hell of a lot of coin. Also venison has no hormones.
