Today is Ithaca Police Chief Rick Basile's last day on the job. In his five years as the city's top cop, Basile helped make Ithaca a better, safer place, be it pushing for departmental diversity or creating some order out of Senior Week chaos.

Yes, those are the liberal minions who hold stakes to the hearts of Conservatives so that other liberals can try to pound them in.
Fortunately, most Conservatives have hearts that can't be punctured.
Following my employment with the Albany Police Department, I served as Director of Training for the New York State Division of Criminal Justices Services. Most recently, I served as Police Chief in Ellenville, New York. While there, I expanded the DARE program, started an Explorer Post, a Youth Court and a Police Athletic League.
I received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Science from the College of St. Rose located in Albany, New York. Following that, I achieved a Master of Science Degree in Public Administration from Russell Sage College in Troy, New York.
A term in Ithaca given to its citizens. Must be more politically correct for some reason.
Actually "stakeholder" is a fairly common term in the business world where all parties with a "stake" in a certain outcome hopefully can be marshalled to work together. In the Ithaca usage, I think the desired outcome involves a whole lot more than safe streets!
OutOfTownBrown was the Dink's police commissioner, presiding over the greatest volume of crime ever committed in the history of an American city, culminating in the only pogrom ever staged on US soil.
Brown, a CoreDemocrat(tm), is now mayor of Houston, thanks, in part, to his good friends at Enron.
While Brown is the visible poster child for quota-hiring crime fighters, scores if not hundreds of little worms like this have infiltrated the criminal justice system.
The Ithaca Journal applauds this, of course, calling it "good business."
