Most societies historically have hated the merchant class in Europe and Aisa from England to Japan. Jews have had little opportunity but to work as merchants having lost their land and wandering for survival. This is their curse.

Rabbi Ken Spiro wonders the same thing. In his history of Jews in Poland (a history which began very well indeed), he writes:
"The places where the Jews will do the best are almost always the places where the Jews will suffer the worst in the end."
Why are Americans disliked...by some Europeans and some Islamists. JEALOUSY.
A better question is, why are some people made so bitter and twisted by the success of others. :))
