I agree with everything you've said.....except for the "getting on with it" thingy.

I honestly believe he may think it's unconstitutional and he is going to let the SC tell John McCain he wrote, lobbyed for, and passed an unconstitutional bill.

Think of this: if Bush vetoes it, we would be hearing about this until we die -- and maybe beyond.

If the SC vetoes it as unconstitutional, that's the end of it!

We're ALL discouraged about it. Some of us just aren't ready to drink hemlock yet!

Yes, the US Supreme Court could hand McCain his come uppance - but I am certain the Demonrats have a plan to deal with THAT prospect. It should not be left to the Supreme Court because nothing is certain in this troubled world.......but I understand the "strategy" to let it be dealt with there.

No, no hemlock yet. But my foot soldiering days for all Republicans are over. I can't however keep myself from caring enough to work for good candidates - in both the House and the Senate - and on the local level. I am just too mean and ornery to give up ..... much as I would sometimes like to. But if we don't deal with voter fraud - NOW - nothing much is going to matter. Still, we will fight - won't we?
