Take it up with Laz. He's the one who brought you into the discussion, not me! See the link to your opinion at #165. Check it out. I was simply responding.

Reagan Man, something is seriously wrong with you today. I never once mentioned or linked to anything diotima said, as she will certainly see as she takes your advice to check it out.

I humbly suggest, RM, that maybe you take a breather from posting until maybe you can make at least one true statement.

has there been a pool started yet on whether Bush will switch to the Democrat party? hehehehehe
For all intents and purposes he sure has been acting like one lately. If he signs CFR he can kiss my vote good-bye.

I agree with you, but I am willing to consider the words of Queen Elizabeth of Iowa, who has at least pried my ears open a little about the concept of this being a good strategic move. I am still quite upset and will not be voting for him but I will listen to her as she makes her argument to me.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with me today, Laz. Your link goes directly to diotima's post at #101. Here's the actual link you gave. Check it out.

BTW, I'm not the one who needs a time out. You need to calm down, stop calling people names and stop lying already.

If you click the link provided by Laz, at #165, you will see your entire post #101 come up. I'm at #102. May be that's to literal for some folks, like you and Laz. So be it.

There have been floods and fires and earthquakes before. Fear not, the sky is still firmly above us.

There is an advantage to this. If it's killed in the USSC, the "reformers" won't try this for another 25 years. It's so hard to convince people to be principled. We are. We care deeply about such things, but most people live on the margins. I don't think we serve ourselves well by overestimating the effects of these things.

It's tough in PA. You need to get a former governor or a mayor of one of the two major cities or a well-known congressman. Well, I can't think of a congressman with statewide name recognition, the mayors are always democrats and the only other option is -- Tom Ridge.

I think the best hope is that the seat becomes open. Then a congressman would have a chance.

Because if you think what Dubya is doing is bad, you wouldn't believe what Hitlery would do...(lesser of two evils)

No its not too literal. I checked the post number referred in the reference. You didn't.

The post linked was YOURS not mine. You could at least say you were sorry that you had misread the order of responses.

If you went to the link that Laz gave in #165 and which I repeated in #189, you will see they both link, to your post at #101. Post #101, is center screen. Post #102, is right below yours and is not center screen. If you see post #102 on your screen, when you link and not #101, I suggest something may be wrong with your computer.

There's nothing for me to be sorry about. But, if it makes you feel better, I'll apologize for Laz dragging you into our disagreement.

All I am saying is that if read the URL that he links which is http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/650847/posts?page=150#102 you can see the post he is talking about is yours (102), not mine. (101)

As much as it pains me to say this (concerning our President), I find myself in agreement with much of what you are saying. I think accountability is central here.

We should never find ourselves rubberstamping the decisions of any politician - friend or foe. Granted, we elect public officials to make decisions in a representative fashion. President Bush has the authority allowed by the citizens of the United States and the Constitution to make this call. But we must always retain the right - actually, the responsibility to object, if necessary, at the next election. I am not advocating that we demand success on every issue... We'll be disappointed about the amount of a tax cut, the provisions of this bill or that - but matters of the Constitution are an entirely different animal.

Concerning reelection, I will wait to decide at the appropriate time. But I must say, this CFR is clearly unconstitutional and should be readily apparent to any citizen patriot. There is no excuse to turn a blind eye or lead in ignorance over such a serious matter.

In the meantime, I pray that the wisdom of our Founders that birthed the SEPARATION OF POWERS will come to the rescue.

I, too, love President Bush. This hurts.

You're right, but I don't have my address bar turned on enough for the post number to show. However, it now appears an adjustment to the links at #165 and #189, has been made and they line up perfect with my post at #102. A fluke in the system I suppose. Although, I expect Laz to show up now and point this out to us all.

"I don't believe Bush and his people want him to veto CFR and then be trashed by the Democrats and the liberal media."

The 'RATs and the liberal media will trash and have trashed Bush in any case. Doing what your opposition wants, because you fear what they'll say is being p*ss*wh*pp*d. Actually, that's a form of spiritual terrorism that Hitler used and he learned it from the Socialists of his day. See William Shirer's "Rise and Fall of the Third Reich".

Laz, the one thing that keeps coming up is the notion that Dubya can determine what is constitutional and what isn't. He can't. He can say he has concerns about it, but the body that determines constitutionality is the SC. If he said he wouldn't sign because it's unconstitutional, he would be jumped on like a hen on a June bug. He would be ridiculed for thinking he is King George. The 3 braches jealously guard their turf.

I don't think that I have ever voted for a politician that I agreed with 100%. I don't even agree with my husband of 43 years 100%. I vote for the person that comes closest to my views.
