Less than two weeks after the furor surrounding the fatal shooting of a Somali man by Minneapolis police, Chief Robert Olson and a community activist pledged cooperation Wednesday, each vowing to keep the lines of communication open.
That was among the many promises Olson and Omar Jamal, executive director of the Somali Justice Advocacy Center, made during a news conference at the center's St. Paul office.

Currently, there are no Somali police officers in Minneapolis. This is as it should be. Minneapolis should only have AMERICAN Police officers.

"I don't understand why couldn't they have called the firefighters to hose him down," Geer said. Now we have firefighters called upon to fight crime. Is this man serious!!?? I'm sure that time wasn't an issue at all. People have to learn when you go up against the law with weapons there is a good chance you are going to get hurt or possibly even killed. This should be a lesson to others who may try the same thing, but of course the police will take the licking here. Who can blame someone for not wanting to be a cop these days. Talk about tying ones hands!

This was back in the early 80' when i was with the 11th ACR at BH.
We had a medic that had the back hatch(which btw was marked as a FF hatch)
of a M113 drop on his shoulders he grunted bent
his knees and held the hatch up BY HIMSELF.
