US Vice President Dick Cheney told Turkish officials that Washington was not planning to take military action against Iraq in the near future

Is September the near future, or the intermediate future? Because the attack will roll out on or about the 1-year anniversary of the 9/11/01 sneak attack.

You ought to check your history about the Turks being on America's side. With the Germans in WWI and essentially with the Axis in WWII. Turks have "allied" themselves with whomever helps preserve their anti democratic dictatorial regimes. And that means allied with NATO during the Cold War in fear of the Soviets.

You really need to learn more about the Moslem Turks and what they've done to the mainly Christian peoples living there for eons. More importantly is their refusal and stubborness to accept blame for any of the atrocities they have commited. And even more relevant to the US today is that Muslim Turks are not really our allies...they can never be trusted.

Turkish atrocities
