Why? The state figures that with only one leg he can still kick the bucket.

Just give the guy an artificial leg. If the cost is too much, put the leg up for bid on E-Bay afterwards.

He accused prison officials of stalling on the replacement limb because of the expense.

But the story says that somebody else was willing to foot the bill.

"It's because he has the infection and the infection won't clear up so that he can be fitted," Fitzgerald said.

One, no, two shots will take care of that infection.

The anti-death penalty crowd will jump all over this.

The anti-death penalty crowd maintain death watches on every death row inmate everywhere. It's only that some get more publicity than others, like when they can get some Hollywood-type to kick in a few words.

"I think they should dress him up as a pirate, wood leg, hooked hand, eye patch and a parrot on his shoulder. I'd pay to see that." <---Thats pretty funny Registered.

With my luck, the damned costume stuff will be back ordered until after the execution.

It just occurred to me that if they give this guy a leg made out of hickory wood and execute him in the electric chair, his last memory would be a pleasant aroma that would bring back delicious memories of a Virginia smoked ham....

(my bad)

Did your Dad ever tell you what happens when you pick up guinea pigs by their tails?

He should feel grateful that they didn't amputate BOTH legs. Otherwise he couldn't kick the bucket, he would have to stump the bucker.

The man is going to die. Yes he probably very much deserves it but I say give him the leg. Infection or not if he sees it as such an important matter he will continue to push for it. And if he doesn't receive it soon then he'll most likely try to hold off the execution. Can you imagine what a circus the media would make this into?

Isn't this special...this guy robbed and killed 5 people back in '85.....and now he wants a $15,000 artifical leg so he can go out with 2 legs......I think too much money has already been spent on him just feeding and housing him in prison.....I think you get one last meal (anything you want) not anything you want at all....if that was the case, there'd be inmates asking for one-way tickets to Aruba....

No, I'll bite...

When he'd come home really beat from working in ditches, he's tell me he couldn't pick me up because he had "nails in his fingers."

Their eyeballs fall out.
If you take a very good look at a guinea pig, you'll 'get it'.

My Dad used to tell us jokes like that. I don't recall if he told the 'hang a man with a wooden leg' joke, but he would have if he'd known it or thought of it.
