I think that is the point the author is trying to make in a very unsubtle way, that females are catching up to males in acting irresponsibly.

A better example would have been to include some present day examples of how these women have been taught to act like guys.

You haven't been around long to meet our libertarians, have you. OWK and others are dead set against the war on drugs and are totally set on de-criminalizing drug use/possession. NO LAW IS GOOD to libertarians.

Their appreciation for real men usually only comes later when they've learned to appreciate the bounty of a "good" man. Often the hard way...thru experience with losers.

One thing I started noticing after getting into my late 20's is that many women with who had been around the block a few times agressively go after the "nice" guys, while the "nice" girls sometimes have trouble discriminating and wind up getting burned by "players" or marrying the kind of chumps you know just aren't going anywhere.

I agree...I don't think it will work out. My little brother is 13 years my junior and "enjoys" the company of early 20s gals and to hear him say it they may well be a bit easier to get into bed than say two generations ago but that doesn't mean they are racing mares so to speak. Some gals just have it and some don't...or they haven't learned it yet. I don't think promiscuousness for either sex ensures either capability or "liking it" by default. In the early 70s when I was in High School most of the slutty girls had "daddy issues"....seriously. They looked for male approval thru sex.

Young women as well as young men can and will behave foolishly....but the downside for the gals is steep.

While I had zero trouble getting dates in college (at least compared to periods pre and post), I never quite got an offer like this. Did she get into specifics?

All civilized societies value chaste behavior in young women...

I am sorry for these women. They will come to reap what they are sowing. Many of them will be left sterile by diseases they acquire; the ones who are not left sterile will risk passing their diseases to the children that they bear, damaging them. Others will die young from cervical cancer that has it's beginnings in genital warts. And the majority will probably lament their behavior (truly "promiscuous" behavior, that is) when they want to marry a man of good character who won't want anything to do with them. But, unfortunately, everyone who is growing up will NOT listen to advice from those with more experience--they will have to learn it by their own mistakes.

Today's young man looking for a date has to look far and wide to find a companion who has not had multiple sexual partners. Virginity is a vice in today's world.

At my age (35), any woman with a diploma is probably what Kid Rock would call "used good."

Well said DD....it's a dangerous and cruel world out there for young women who don't watch their sexual backs. I know more than a few mid 30s to mid 40s mommies who seriously lament their forays in this arena when young....if only in a moral sense rather than from physical detriment.
