SULEMANI, Kurdistan -- The September 15th issue of Baku's 525 Gazet reported the arrest and sentencing of an Iraqi suspected of spying for the Iraqi Mukhabarat Secret Service Agency.

The alleged spy is named Ahmad Rostash, and is now serving a 10-year prison term in Azerbaijan.

525 Gazet went further and stated Ahmad Rostash was trained in Afghanistan where he networked with other international terrorists.

These implications add to the suspicion that Saddam has an un-seen hand in the World Trade Center and Pentagon September 11 terrorist attacks on the United States.

The Saddam-Afghanistan connection does not end there, Al Qaeda trained terrorists have also entered Iraqi-Kurdistan via Iraqi-controlled territories.

Two suspected Usama bin Laden associates and Mukhabarat agents Abu Wael and Abu Yasir of Baghdad have both joined forces with Abu Abdullah Shafa'i's Jund Al Islam. Both men are Iraqi nationals who have been trained in Afghanistan.

This follows a plot to assassinate the Secretary General of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and his Deputy, the President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party and his Deputy earlier this month.

The group succeeded in assassinating Mr. Franso Hariri, member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party Polit Bureau and a long time confidant of the late President and Founder of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Mullah Mustafa Barzani.

Reports out of the region also point fingers at Saddam Hussein's personal relationship with Al Qaeda kingpin, Usama Bin Laden.

According to Dr. Laurie Milroy, the author of the Politics of Revenge and Saddam''s Unfinished War, states that both Saddam and bin Laden cooperated and coordinated the 1993 attack on New York's World Trade Center. The perpetrator who carried out the attack was Ramzi Yousif of the Istakhbarat or Iraqi Military Intelligence Agent.

Yousif was convicted in a U.S. Federal Court and is now serving a 200-year prison term for the attacked that caused six fatalities and 1,000 injuries. After being captured in Pakistan.

Yousif was holding an Iraqi passport, and admitted living extensively in Baghdad, Iraq.

So, it doesn't come as a surprise if the September 11 terrorist attacks on the United States and the attempted assassinations of the PUK and KDP leadership figures are all ordered by Saddam and implemented by bin Laden and his thugs.

Also, I know there have been reports of an Iraqui training camp at which terrorists were trained to seize airplanes, using an old 707 or 727. Oddly, those reports are never repeated in more recent discussions of the pros or cons of attacking Iraq. I believe they say the training did not involve Al Queda, but why would we tolerate any terrorist training?

Re #2

Al-Qaeda members were in Iraq, a couple of hundred of them for training to handle WMD(chemical and biological agents). It was reported last July. They trained at Salman Pak, about 25 miles south of Baghdad. This is where they installed a jetliner.

It seems like the stories appearing in print about Iraq's involvement in terrorism has escalated in the last couple of days.

Could it be that we are getting ready to make a move in the very near future?

Re #6

As I posted in other threads, the war may not start with the all-out invasions. There will be low intensity conflict of guerilla warfare or hit-and-run attacks. That will tie up Hussein's military and wear them down. With U.S. having total air-cover, this can be an effective disruption campaign. This phase may go on for a while, and it can start pretty soon in a few weeks. There is no logistics time delay of moving troops and hardware in position. We can just use asset already available in those area. It is my view that they will try to turn Iraqi military units or many of ruling elites during this guerilla conflict. Hussein's vaunted security agency won't be effective in this situation. So anybody who wants to quit can have a better chance, especially with exiles actively urging them on and Saddam's time appearing to be up. Any real attack by U.S. military could be incremental building on top of guerilla warfare, as somebody pointed out. Hence, it can start fairly early and drawn out for a few month before final push to finish him. I hope that, by the time U.S. makes final attack, Hussein does not even have all of Republican Guards, due to defections.

Yes, I don't expect us to go in guns blazing all at once. But I do think that we will be making some kind of a move, and soon.

They never report such things more than once, and once is only to say they did.

#7...... You must have watched the same report I did, it seem the Iraqi population is just about ready to get rid of Sadam, but they do need a little help.
