Heard a military expert on one of the later shows this am, say that the troops are collecting enormous amounts of intel from the caves, which is why they probably did not want to demolish them.

Thanks for that insight. That's the first -- and only -- reasoning as to why we are risking our troops' lives instead of just incinerating and rubblizing everything in (or out) of sight.
