You make some good points about old conservative Mexicans versus newer immigrant socialist leaning Mexicans. Night hides not also had some good points about the maturation of a Democrats mind.
Reminded me of the old Churchill quote that goes something like this: "If you're young and you're not a liberal, you have no heart. If you're old and you're not a conservative, you have no mind."
Bottom line Fitz, they're still not monolithic, just as white America is not. How many leftist brainwashed white kids get out of college and get real?
That's actually the point I want to make---they aren't monolithic and just because some family who came around 1910, or some Cuban family votes Conservative doesn't mean that the recent amnestied who came illegally and are living in the projects will vote Conservative. We aren't exactly screening illegals to make sure they have an understanding of what's in the US Constitution. It's important to look at some of the statistics in the border counties ---where many of the recent arrivals are living (not in some Plano suburb) and see the very high unemployment and low education level rates. These just are not natural Republican types. (Although the 2 Hispanic doctors I use for my family might be).
