Hmmm. Then why not go to your representatives and demand the end to this practice? You see, this where you lose the argument and tip your hand. Instead of taking what would appear to be the easier route, you demand that everyone be rounded up in busses, sent back across the border and a wall built to keep them out.
If you're issue is welfare and social services, demand from you're elected reps (ER) that the laws be changed so they cannot receive them. If you're issue is crime, demand from you're ER's that they get tough on crime. If you're issue is jobs, demand that the INS step up it's efforts to prosecute business's that employ them. If you're issue is just plain illegal immigration, demand that congress quadruple the border patrol budget so they can do the job.
It's funny to me how people scream about the tax impact of illegals that seems minor when compared to the hundreds of billions that are wasted every year by local, state and the federal governments through waste, fraud, corruption and a bloated and unconstitutional bureaucracy. It's funny to me when people scream about the comparatively small amount of crime committed by illegals when we have rampant theft, rape and murder committed by our own citizens. It's funny to me when people scream about the "illegality" of crossing the border without papers when there has to be a citizen on the other side willing to illegally pay them under the table or there would be no incentive to pay the coyotes to run them.
I'm not saying problems concerning illegal immigration aren't important, just that the hysteria seems out of proportion and sometimes misplaced. You can't defeat you're opponent until you recognize who or what it is.
Hmmm... been there, done that, Bob, almost on a daily basis for years. They don't listen, they do what their agenda calls for, and they keep getting re-elected here in California by liberals. Don't preach to me, I've tried everything.
Is it funny that 25% of the inmates in Calif. jails are Mexican Immigrants? Love Mexican or hate them, that stat speaks volumes.
Last I heard, illegals make up something between 10% and 15% of California's population, but 25% of our prisoners.
Comparatively, it sounds like they're overachieving in this regard.
