You both make some excellent points and observations . Like you Saber , I have always voted straight gop , from the city commode cleaner to the President . In my observations the 2 dominate parties have simply gotten to cozy together , so the lines have gelled together . I think they court the swing vote because it simply feeds the machine .

I think they court the swing vote because it simply feeds the machine .

It's because the swing voters decide the outcome.

Each party can generally count on 40% of the vote, rain or shine. That leaves 20% in play.

That's the 20% they pander to, so I guess I need to be a GOP swing voter.
