Maybe you could expound on the elistist thing a bit more in a practical way? I assume Keyes believes in elections. To me an elistist as relevant in the current political currency is one who wants government to propagandize and regulate popular consumption and taste habits. I'm not sure Keyes wants government to be in that business. Another strand is to have government make decisions not easily subject to popular validation. This is typically done now through the courts. I don't think Keyes likes that either.

One can be an insufferable elitist without lobbying for new laws. Keyes does, however, want to do some of what you mention (drug & porno laws being the most obvious) but nothing which upsets me.
