Oh, this will really upset the NWOers, who say Bush and Ashcroft are violating our rights!

And could they add another descriptor to this guy's job? :-)

has been named the assistant deputy executive associate commissioner for immigration

How would you like to have a job that required congressional approval to be fired? Just how tied are the hands of this administration due to this type of insanity?

"Mr. Ziglar announced the following changes:

•Renee Harris, acting deputy chief for the U.S. Border Patrol, has been named acting director for international affairs.
•Johnny Williams, director of the INS western region, has been named executive associate commissioner for field operations.
•Janis Sposato, special counsel to the commissioner, has been named the assistant deputy executive associate commissioner for immigration services.
•Michael Cronin, acting executive associate commissioner, has been named the assistant commissioner for inspections.

Are these the ones being punished or are they the replacements? Hard to tell from the titles.

What exactly does an "assistant deputy executive associate commissioner" do? Hard to tell if she is or is not important. Probably not, since she's only an assistant. If they were trying to be funny with these titles they couldn't top these.

They're the replacements. The article said that the people currently in those jobs will be reassigned. They usually announce promotions and demotions are quietly done without naming names.

I'd love to! Heck, who wouldn't! If they won't "fire" Bill Clinton, I can't think of much I could do that would get me fired!

Well I guess that explains the S..t eating grin on the postal clerk’s face as he bends, folds and mutilates our mail.

The titles of some of the personnel changes shows what an overburdened bureaucracy the INS is. When you have an aide to the asociate commissioner for the vice chairman of the blah, blah agency in International affairs, it tells you that there is some dead wood floating around in the sea of confusion.

All that happened was that people were shuffled around. Civil Service rules makes it impossible to fire people and even if they're demoted (according to their job title), they still receive their old salary. Big deal!

I used to work for the State of New York in Albany and saw it all the time (where I worked, there was an area jokingly called "The Department of Useless Personnel" where idiots were "promoted" to because you couldn't just fire any brain-dead morons or incompetents).

"Justice Department officials said the changes did not involve the firings of any INS officials, adding that the career employees now in those posts would be moved to other jobs within the department."

Of course not. The closest thing to eternal life is a federal government job. You can't lose it unless you die...not matter what incompetence you commit while in it.

Try that in the private sector and you would last about 2 seconds after you did something this idiotic.
