I used to live in Monterrey, a million years ago, and it was a beautiful city with wide esplanades and very hospitable to Americans.

I've returned recently and now, I'd say it has modern parts, but mostly is an industrial city that is popping at the seams. It's also Mexico, which means that it has incredible poverty at the lower end of the scale.

I'm glad it's continuing to modernize, and I hope it becomes completely Americanized.

But basically, it's a dump, and I don't care if I never see it again.

It is a third world city that runs on corruption...perhaps that is what they want for America

It is beautiful with huge extremes of worth..the VERY wealthy and the poverty of the "middle class"

I loved it and it's people.I would like to return someday on another mission.

But it is no model city to live in..
