The murderous b!tch deserves the needle. Hasn't she suffered enough? She has, after all, lost her five children.

Cretin?--let's see how the book sales go, first. Don't men who want brood mares, usually keep a stable full of them? or rent stalls? RY is no VD, I expect-- but who knows?
To: GB
definitely for NoJ

They should give her death by drowning. They should hold her under 4 times to within one breath of life, let her fully recover and then on the fifth time kill her.

(Hugs to ya!)Well, ok, you can hug me as long as:
1. You're a girl, and
2. I'm not going to receive a threatening email from someone claiming to be your boyfriend. :-D

If the woman wanted help, why did she stop taking the medication? I thought it was reported that her doctor took her off the psychotic medication two weeks before the murders.

if the old man Yates wants a career change how about making him a caddy for OJ Simpson?..

looks relieved, doesn't she She looks crazy to me. And, I hate it when obviously mentally ill women get treated like criminals. But it takes a lot understanding to get past the details of her crime.
First, when she was drowning them, each child struggled, vomited, defecated and urinated. She never changed the water from child to child and left the last one in the dirty water. (Even serial killers who know their victims show more respect for the body.)
Her remark about killing the children "being a bad choice."
Her husband had his mother come around mid-morning to stay the day and to keep an eye on her while she was taking care of the kids. So she planned the murders to take place between the time he left for work and the time mom-in-law arrived.
I think she had to chase the last one around the house.
Does any of this make her less insane? No. I do not for a minute think that she rationally thought that killing her children was going to make her life better.
It's just hard to get past what she did. I think that's the reason the mentally ill don't get compassion. It's just too hard to get past what they do.

This was a circus--Agreed.
But, I don't think we'll hear much more from Rusty, or much of anything about this tragedy for that matter. It's "yesterday's news".
I think I'm going to check out on this thread. I consider myself a waaayyy right wing conservative but I certainly have little desire to consort with the "conservatives" on this forum today.

There ya go!!!!

I bet Russell Yates is already being "serviced" by another woman. I think his "devotion" is to make a book and movie deal likely. I bet he has no intention of staying married to her once she goes into the TX slammer.

She didn't lose them. She murdered them.
I watched her face when the sentence was read and she looked at her lawyer. She was very clear of the fact that she would be spared the fate her children were not. She was smiling and obviously relived. Quite sane in her reaction. Quite relived.
And the kids are still quite dead.
To: chance33_98
She'll wish she was with her 5 kids by the time some of those women(?) inmates get through with her.
To: ARCADIA
No doubt, AY's clinical training contributed to her tolerance for continuing to inflict pain on her children. Nurses routinely detach from the pain they give their patients-- so they can do their job. We all know AY felt like she was just doing her job, as a good mother--
To: GB
Should we be a nation of laws or a nation of justice?Sadly, we're a long way from either. We're just a nation of lawyers.
To: GussiedUp
Quite sane in her reaction. Quite relived. Not quite the monster she was, before medication.
To: Eva
A sane and deliberate requires a motive, the one you gave is about the weakest I have ever heard. If the woman wanted help, why did she stop taking the medication? She had no motive; she was crazy. And, for some reason, they stop taking their medicine. Had a relative, manic-depressive, that for years refused to take his lithium. He'd forget. Even though he knew, while his was on lithium, that he needed to take it. ???

I'm basically just devil's advocating with that question. The problem with the idea of laws vs. justice is that it is possible to quantify laws, set them down in a book for all to see and make them specific and detailed enough to where there's no question what they are. I don't know that you can quantify justice. It's an elusive, abstract concept that is often in the eye of the beholder.

Will Andrea and Russell Yates be permitted conjugal visits while she is in prison? I predict that will be Part II of this story. Andrea becomes pregnant while behind bars. Then she will declare the pregnancy 'proof that God has forgiven'. And the media will be thrilled for her.
