One really neat thing happened today.
I had just finished broadcasting a weather and sea report to the public and when I finished a fishing boat called in and said "Thanks Coast Guard Station for a very clear and well pronounced broadcast." No one in the radio room had ever recalled a fishing boat paying a compliment to the person broadcasting before. Well I do have year sexperience as a taxi dispatcher and at one time did voice overs for a cable company TV ads.

.."Thanks Coast Guard Station for a very clear and well pronounced broadcast." ..This sounds like me. When my cable, phone, electricity, etc. go out and I have to call in, I always call back when service is restored and thank them and ask them to pass the message to the service crews.
They are always stunned into silence for a few seconds. They are so used to being cussed out, shouted at, etc. a soft thank you is just overwhelming. (They do remember me later when I have to make another call.)

"Thanks Coast Guard Station for a very clear and well pronounced broadcast." .. Good job Tonk... even with you (s)experience. :^)
When I heard your voice on FR Radio last week, I said to myself, "Self, Tonk sure speaks clearly." That's a real plus for those of us with hearing loss.
Sometimes I'm 'hard of hearing,' but other times I can be 'hard of listening.'
