USO Canteen Freeper Style
War has come to our shores. It was committed on American soil. We have been able to live in Freedom only because of those who have fought in the past wars giving life, limb and all the sacrifices for us to live in Freedom and go about our day without fear.
On September 11, 2001, that comfort, that feeling of living in a land that would not be attacked ended.
William T. Sherman said it succinctly, "War is hell."
The day has come for this Nation and its people to understand that there is a risk in losing its freedom, and in reality there always has been. We have ONLY stayed free because of the sacrifices of our military, our warriors.
This is about saving the future of America. Aristotle said, "We make war that we may live in peace."
We are seeing the American Flag flying at homes now more than ever in my lifetime. We are seeing the American Flag flying on vehicles and people wearing Flag pins and small Flags on their clothes. America is united in the cause for Freedom and for our country to WIN against the evil that came upon our land to kill and hurt us. To change our way of life and to destroy America which is US, you and me. To take away our precious Freedom.
This is the Freeper version of the USO Canteen. Where soldiers could come and feel a small part of being at home. It is a place where you that have family in the military can post a thought to a loved one that might be able to read it far away from home. A place where we that support our military can help support them, post to them, fun graphics showing the price in America and our troops. Poems, quotes, cartoons, or articles of how America is behind our troops.
Those in our military are our Nation's warriors. Let us join hands, fly our Flag and let the world know how important our warriors are to us....And that our MILITARY, our Warriors, are America's TRUE HEROS!
"No Marine was ever honored for what they received. Honor was the reward for what they gave." (Anonymous) CHIEF gave his all in many ways. He touched our lives and his friendship meant so much to all of us. He will live in our hearts forever, and his friendship will always be a bright and shining memory in our hearts and souls.

Can you design a hot key for me to use to ping you? I have so much trouble typing your real-fake screen name.

I'm torn Tonk...to ping (my entire Canteen List) or not to ping...that is indeed the question.
More than likely though - I won't have too...hahaha.
Words like sexperience have a way of finding they own way around.

I always use cut and paste to ping everyone. Then when I ping certain people I just copy from my master list.
Next time you post a long list, copy the TO section in the preview page and save it.

Careful there Donna, your halo is starting to really spin around now.
And I suppose that's my fault uh, LOL
To: Snow Bunny
Is it any wonder my halo falls when he's around?

"Thanks Coast Guard Station for a very clear and well pronounced broadcast." .. Good job Tonk... even with you (s)experience. :^)
When I heard your voice on FR Radio last week, I said to myself, "Self, Tonk sure speaks clearly." That's a real plus for those of us with hearing loss.
Sometimes I'm 'hard of hearing,' but other times I can be 'hard of listening.'

Thanks. Yes, I have a whole page of everyone who has posted anything here since I have been a part of The Canteen.
I use that procedure, too. I just go down the list with each new post hoping to grab someone to come on over and take part. Sometimes folks just need a prompt or two.

My hearing is still messed up from all that 5" gunfire.
I once read where someone said they never knew an artillery man who had good hearing left.

I spent too many years working around construction/industrial noises. They took their toll.
Hang on a minute, gotta answer the phone.
OOPS! My mistake, just my ears ringing.

It's a "Guy Thing."

..I spent too many years working around construction/industrial noises...Did the employer provide ear plugs/protection? I know my dad refused to wear his when he was working inside the hulls of ships with riveters on the outside tacking. The whole family suffered along with him in later years.

You're still as adorable as the first day I met you.

The damage was done prior to OSHA regs. Once they were provided, I always used them. Still do, hoping it doesn't get worse. I'm losing the battle though.
To: Diver Dave
It's Cinderella time for me.
Night All.
To: Diver Dave
Good night, neighbor. Sleep well. May God bless you and your family.

LOL, reminds me of my first dog when I was a K-9 handler. Biggest German Shepherd you ever saw. He performed great when it was just for practice but when it was time for the real thing he'd run and jump in the cruiser.
