President Bush held his fifth formal press conference today and played hardball with the press core and the Senate, especially concerning the Pickering appointment. Bush also hosted a few St. Patrick Day events today, including the New York Fire Department Emerald Society Pipe and Drum Corps. Irish Prime Minister Bertie Ahern was also in attendance, and presented President Bush with a basket of shamrocks. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya.

Incredible variety of expressions on our President's face today: smiles, anger, determination, thoughtful, incredibly sad. He carries the burden of office with such grace. Thank you for reminding all of us nightly that we have a real leader whom we are proud to have at the helm.

W, in a kilt, eh? Only if it were a short one... Actually - I think he will be wearing a kilt when he accepts the William Wallace award ...
Grab your Kilts
The Press Conference today was fabulous--W was really "on" -- he defended Pickering and patiently explained how the 3 Branches of government work ("Puff" was whining about Tom Ridge refusing to brief Congress -- which is something he is NOT required to do) -- he said he would give a complaining "unnamed" Republican (prolly McCain) some "consultation" if the press guy would tell him who it was -- and he even got in a few subtle "digs" at the press (pretended to not know who Fournier was, called on a very sweet Asian gentleman because "he asked the quietest" when everyone else was yelling his name out). And then he got a bit misty-eyed when he was talking about how it feels to know there were young men dying for America in Afghanistan and later seeing their family sitting in the front row at a speech -- this guy is so forthright and honest !! what a welcome change !!
Heartfelt Prayers for Pres. Bush, VP Cheney and for our fighting men and women

(Although they might consider wearing underwear in the presence of the President.)She looks just fine.
And I'm sure she has under garments on, if she didn't her mother would kill her.

As one who has actually seen those eyes up close they are blue. We saw him at a campaign rally in Nov 2000 - he worked the line and shook our hands and looked right at us. I like to look people right in the eye and they were a very nice blue. Just like my husband's.

WHAT NO PIC's of the prez giving the EVIL EYE to a stupid reporter who interupted him in the middle of his answer to another reporter?! BOY OH BOY, I bet'cha that clymer wanted to crawl under the biggest rock he could find! YEPPERS, NO DOUBT ABOUT IT, OUR PREZ WAS ROLLING TODAY, Yep rolling all over the EXCREMENT CLYMERS...Bawahahhahaha...LOVE IT!

I am totally with you re: the Bush-bashing. Say what you want about those Democrats, they support their own. Conservatives on the other hand seem to want to eat their own. Dubya once said that even though he's conservative, conservatives are the hardest to handle. And several people lately are proving him right.
Just my observation. We can't all possibly agree with everything the President does, but I think he is a wonderful President, one that we can respect, and support.

I have been all over the map regarding W's eyes so I have to go with Laura's assessment. She says they are blue.Yes, like I have said before, Laura is the one who is in the best position to know the truth of the matter. If she says they are blue, they are blue.
What I said in my first post tonight though is that no matter what color they are, they are just gorgeous! That's one thing that all of us can agree on, right?

Post 5, Pic #7:
Who forgot to tell those two gentlemen that today was "green tie" day?
(I was beginning to think that today was St. Patty's Day.)

I was hoping that maybe President Bush would treat us by wearing a kilt today.
Well he did wear that goofy looking shirt on his trip to the Far East (Japan??) last year!

Cheney's pic is a blast!! He looks so mellow in his shades and blazer, like he came from poolside at the Beverly Hills Hotel.Dick has style ;-)
We always compare Bush to Clinton ("can you imagine if Clinton..." etc., etc.) Well the first thing I thought when I saw this pic of Cheney was "Can you imagine if that were algore?" What a moron. Cheney is so calm, cool, and at ease with our men in uniform. algore isn't even at ease with his own wife!

You can't possibly compare his wearing that Sargent Pepper's shirt to the wearing of a kilt!!!!
I wonder what they wear under those things????? LOL!

That's good to hear, jokemoke. A respite amongst the lunacy is always a good thing.

I wonder if that's his bad ear? LOL. He looks like he is contemplating a lot in that pic. Laura looks like she's silently comforting him.

The West Coast contingent of the Bush Babes is heading soon to the tube to watch Dateline and "Journeys with George". How far into the program do they go before they start with this story?

You are very welcome, who!

I saw the list of countries Cheney is going to visit and I can't help but think he's going to all of them to say, 'look, we're going to deal with Saddam, so you'd better just learn to deal with it.' Of course, his diplomacy is much better than mine. LOL.
