Good essay by Buckley on this: The Writhings of Bishop O’Connell: The Pope must rue those who corrupt the young.

It's probably somewhere here at FR too, but I couldn't find it when I did a search for "O'Connell."

I (a R.C.) am lead to believe by logical inference that there is more than ONE Bishop out there, and perhaps even a Cardinal or two who is guilty of child molesting- and that this explains a lot about the recurrent and massive cover-ups for lower-ranking Priests.

The vow of celibacy has NEVER worked well, and should be modified or abolished. There is no reason that Priests have to be homosexual, or so sexually confused and immature that they resort to molesting children -EVER!
