March 13, 2002 -- WASHINGTON - President Bush plans to make a major push to solve a decade-long mystery over the fate of a Navy pilot whose plane was shot down over Iraq on the opening night of the Persian Gulf War, officials said yesterday.

Bush can certainly empathize with the F-18 pilot, having once been an MIA pilot himself (May 1972 - October 1973).
