INS APPREHENSION INFORMATION

Date Range: 01/01/2002 To 3/10/2002 EST

The table below represents all the recorded INS apprehensions for the above time period. At the bottom of the table is a glossary to help you better understand what you are looking at. Once we are done looking at the table, I will present some facts about what these number represent. These facts may shock you. This post and this table will be updated approximately every two weeks.

Table Glossary:

Encounters (also know as "Enrollments"): The total number of encounters (recorded apprehensions) into the system.

LO Hits: (Lookout Hits) The number of apprehensions involving people who have criminal records in the Lookout Database.

RC Hits: (Recidivist Hits) The number of apprehensions involving people who previously had been apprehended and having at least one record in the recidivist database.

District: The INS District is composed of the land Ports of Entry (Inspections), Airports (Inspections), and the District office (Detention, Deportation & Investigations) within that District.

Sector: The Border Patrol Sector is composed of the Border Patrol Stations and Check Points within that Sector.

Lets do some math.

From 01/01/2002 through 03/10/2002 the INS reported apprehending 263,586 illegal aliens in the US.
Now some of these apprehensions are what we call recidivist apprehensions, so well will subtract the RC HITS from the ENCOUNTERS.

263,586 - 103,679 = 159,907.

So, between 01/01/2002 and 03/10/2002 the INS apprehended approximately 159,907 illegal aliens either attempting to enter the US, or already in the US.

Now the fun numbers.

The Border Patrol estimates that for every illegal they apprehend, 4 slip by. Independent Immigration experts estimate that closer to 9 slip by, for every 1 alien apprehended. For this presentation, I will also use a 1 to 2 ratio.

So, if the INS apprehended 159,907 illegal aliens, the number of aliens that made it through undetected would be as follows:

1 to 2 = 319,814
1 to 4 = 639,628
1 to 9 = 1,439,163

This means, that anywhere from 319,814 to 1,439,163 illegal aliens entered the United States undetected since January 1st, 2002. .

Now for some more disturbing figures.

US and Allied troops that invaded Normandy in 1944 = 250,000 + US troops that invaded Okinawa in 1945 = 550,000+ Illegal aliens that have invaded the US in 2002 = between 319,814 and 1,439,163.

Now imagine that just 1/10 of 1% of those illegals are from Middle Eastern Countries.

We now have between 319 and 1,439 possible terrorist undetected inside the US.

TOPICS: News/Current Events
KEYWORDS:
Over 4000 illegal aliens enter the United States undetected, everyday. While most are just looking for a better life, there are many that come here to do this country harm.

Please contact your Government Representatives and demand that they stop this madness.

Do we need another 9/11, before we wake up?

Ridge should color this Red Alert! This is pitiful. We have a military scattered all over the world protecting borders and rooting out terrorists and have this going on. I have maintained for some time that terrorists will realize, if not already, that the United States is the safest place to flee if the US military gets after them. These statistics confirm that theory.

Thanks for posting this and it is scary. I became convinced during the Clinton regime that our government is not genuinely serious about preventing illegal immigration; I'm not faulting the INS, Border Patrol nor U.S. Customs but I am faulting those who tie the hands of the INS, Border Patrol and U.S. Customs. As far as I can tell, things have not changed under Bush - our borders are still wide open and those who are charged to enforce the laws and protect our nation are being hampered by Washington.

Thank you so much. Excellent work here. When "they" touch off a nuclear device, perhaps we can drag the poor American souls away from sports, Oprah and wrestling to storm the gates in the District of Criminals. But then again, if you read the many court transcripts of various terrorist(Islam is peace) slimeballs, and study their hopeful targets, there may not be a "D.C." to storm.

William C. Patrick III, an expert on biological warfare, demonstrated a few months ago how porous our defenses against terrorist attacks are by smuggling seven-and-a-half grams of powdered anthrax through security and into a House Select Committee on Intelligence hearing. Displaying the deadly sample, he declared, "I've been through all the major airports, and the security systems of the State Department, the Pentagon, even the CIA, and nobody has stopped me. Seven-and-a-half grams would take care of the Rayburn Building and all the people in it."

"Bush and Congress don't care"

That's true, and they facilitate the problem. Too bad the American people don't care though. You might want to tie the INS nightmare into ATM fees or toe fungus in some sort of thesis. That should do it.

Thank you, this is a great post. I am bookmarking.

In the cities such a Tucson I would bet that the 72,873+ illegals must place a huge strain on the local services, medical, police etc. I am not familiar with that area or its economy, but there must be industry in that area that is employing many of these illegals.

This information is actually horrifying. When we consider what our county went through just six months ago. I guess I should console myself with the knowledge that Tom Ridge has been working on a Color Security System for the past six months. Ridge and the rest of our country better wake up.

This is pitiful. We have a military scattered all over the world protecting borders and rooting out terrorists and have this going on.

This was one of the reasons I got out of the Marines. I was tired of protecting the other countries, while ours was going down the drian.

These numbers will be posted and updated on my profile page, so pass the word along.

After 9/11, everyone in my office felt that this was the wake-up call and Washington would finally let us do our jobs. Well it's been 6 months, and it' business as usual. Not a damn thing has been done. And yesterday the House passed the 245(i) Amnesty bill.

Make you wonder were their priorities are.

These numbers will be posted on my profile page, so pass the word.

Arizona in the main entry point for the illegals, due to the INS operations in California and Texas. Phoenix International Airport is the transportation hub, and the smugglers send these aliens to all points from here.

Arizona has a huge illegal population, but most are just moving through the state to other cities.

These numbers are posted on my profile page, so pass the word along.

I would not be surprised if Osama Bin Laden in in the USA right now. A shrewd operator like him might have had a worst-case contingency plan to sneak right into the US and sit things out under his enemiy's nose. The USA truly is the safest place for a terrorist to lie low.
