As high profile as this case has become, you'd think the LEAD Investigator would have been informed about the blood findings over at the van Dams?
There was a report made out, but he didn't GET IT!? Now, that's not a good thing. Heads should roll.

Since we are discussing the police actions, I think besides the uncalled for leaks to the media, they might have done a few things different IMO to help their credibility. 1)the detective who picked the clothes at the cleaners could have immediately in front of civilian witnesses put the clothes in an evidence bag, sealed and tagged it...why not? 2)When going over both the van dams the suv,and motorhome, they could have had a sign in sign out sheet for all persons entering crime scene/evidence areas. 3)When people clean a house do they not normally start at the top as dust and dirt fall to lower furniture and eventually the floor? In reverse would it not be more logical to examine a floor or carpet and extract possible evidence before it is walked on by numerous people? No booties going in and out of the motorhome, apparently no organization as to who was to do what when...no sign in out sheet...I would like to see the department guidelines for cases like this. 4) Why were numerous trips to the VD's necessary to collect evidence? Once blood and drag marks were evident IMO it should have been a murder scene and examined thoroughly....
While it is easy for me to be critical I would think taxpayers would like to get their moneys worth and have confidence in the PD...Overall I think the Police did a better job than I originally thought, but it remains to be seen...
Sounds like the PD searched his computer monday evening subject to warrant, obviously at that time he was a target of investigation..Quick police work after only talking to him that morning...
