Republicans have failed in their attempt since '94 to turn the ship of state around. They now are on board the ship, cocktail in one hand, and waving to the grass root conservatives that put them in office with the other. There must be a way to take control of the party, or the nation loses.

I dont give a damn whether its a temporary amnesty or not. I will NEVER vote for another Republican again. Immigration is splitting this country apart.

Well, the point is, we're a long way off from a Congress that will go our way all the time. So do we say "my way or the highway" or do we figure out a way to come up with something both sides can live with?

Thank you for the link to the press release.
The headline "Congress OKs Amnesty for Illegal Aliens" is closer to a lie than the truth. It's misleading at best.
Thanks to your efforts I can wait until tomorrow to burn my Republican Party membership card. :-)

No doubt your right, but I am like an effilent, I never forget. The Republican Party may be reminded of why the conservative symbol is the elephant, some of us never do forget or forgive, and we can be very vengeful at the polls.

So, the tens of thousands, or hundreds of thousands, of people around the world trying to emigrate to the USA legally were just slapped in the face yet again. Some have waited years. If they had just crossed the border and waited, some brain dead politicians from both parties will grant them amnesty.
It matters not that many of these illegals are felons, drug users, pimps. They are sapping the life out of our schools, medical services, and government programs. It does not matter, as long as they vote Republican in the next election.
Sound familiar?
We were screaming when Clinton did something very similar, just to get votes. Well, this only proves what I have believed for many years: All politicians are the same: Lying, low life scumbags that have the following priorities:
1. Do what is best for themselves, to get themselves elected and funded.
2. Do what is best for their particular party.
3. Do whatever it takes to hurt the other party.
68. Do what is best for the people and the country.
This one act disgusts me.

The verb is reflexive.

OK, I'll wait for ONE of these people to come forward and explain it...although I won't hold my breath.

Naaahh...I wasn't a Perot fan....
My allusion was to the fact that Dubya's daddy got beat by Ross Perot, just like Dubya will be dethroned by a "Ross Perot"....

"Rep. Tom Tancredo lost the battle but at least no one was able to hide their votes. " I'd love to see a list posted on this forum at a future date.

This is no surprise, it is the Democrats new way of stuffing the ballot box. Too bad Mohammed Atta died in the plane crash six months ago, he just got his visa from the INS.
