I assume they think that is supposed to offend the "whities" but I think it's hilarious. I'm not sure yet why Native Americans find it offensive to have their ancestors remembered as brave fighting warriors. As someone who has ancestors that fought in the Revolutionary War and for the Confederacy I can proudly say that I am proud to have a team named after my "Fighting Whities" heritage. :)

This kind of stuff actually hurts their cause because it shows how non-offensive it really is. There is WAY too many people around today just looking to be offended by something.

Oh, there are plenty of tribes that think the Indian sports team names and tribal names are perfectly fine...major media doesn't exactly like that story, though, and doesn't report it much. I know I've seen at least a few tribal councils quoted as approving of local college teams or whatever bearing their tribe name. I THINK the Seminole tribe is cool with Florida State, as one example, but I'm not certain of that one.
