If Bush gets his amnesty, come 2004, I will remind everyone I know with a short memory of this traitorous act. And that's exactly what this is. We've got men dying in Afghanistan, and he's pulling this crap. I will NOT forget, ever.
To tell you the truth I really don't care about Bush as much as I do keeping a Republican Congress. We had 40 years of liberals running the show and it was a disaster. It's only with this immigration issue that I'm stumped as to what the Repubs are thinking. Poor illegal aliens aren't looking for capital gains tax cuts. They want welfare, food stamps, free schooling, medical care etc etc. That means higher taxes for everyone to pay for it. That's the agenda of the left. And that's who's going to win the coming elections if they're amnestied. Republicans are committing political suicide. Not to mention selling the country out to lawbreakers.
