Yes, isn't that a joke? Our government has never ONCE shown ANY ability to effectively manage immigration...EVER. Remember Reagan's amnesty? It was only supposed to cover some 200,000 illegals. By the time Congress finished butchering the legislation, which Reagan foolishly signed, they had stripped out just about all the restrictive measures Reagan wanted. The result...at least 3 million aliens got amnesty. This is why I am even against "guest worker" programs where an immigrant has to go home after their visa expires. IT NEVER HAPPENS. They find other ways to get around the system or have a kid or two and their stay becomes permanent. Which is another outrage in and of itself.
I am convinced that some great seismic political event must occur that has the power to break the 2 party (actually 1 party) system up to get some much needed and greatly overdue immigration reform. Our current leadership have sold their souls to One World government and will only worsen matters.
We need someone in this country that can rise to the level that Pauline Hanson did in Australia. We need a One Nation political party here in the US...which will force the Republicans to seal the borders or face losing elections from people like many on this thread that will cast a "protest" vote against their Republican congressman.
It worked in Australia...last year, PM John Howard had to adopt the One Nation policy towards illegal immigrants in order for his Labour Party to continue in power.
