Bush will take in all the illegal aliens Mexico can spare, as long as he and his friends like Bill Bennett and Jack Kemp don't have to live near them. They have their Ivory Towers surrounded by walls to protect theirs. Yup...I said so in so many words earlier in this thread.
I always thought that everyone in Congress should be forced to purchase a modest home in a modest neighborhood in Houston or Dallas (and they and their family live in it between sessions).
If they did, we may see a little more vigilance from them in getting on the INS's case about their total incompetence.
The disconnect between Congress and the American people we're seeing today is exactly why the Founders wanted a citizen legislature, so those elected to it would have lived among their neighbors and understood their problems. Instead what we have today in Congress are lobbyists for big corporations. We the people have got to put the heat on these losers big-time.
