This is what I've always thought, but you put it better than I could. If I could believe that The President had nothing but sinister motives for doing this, then I could have hope that his mind could be changed, given enough opposition. But I don't think he will ever change his mind on this. I read once that, when the President was asked what he plans to do about people who disagree with him on this, he replied, "I will bring them around to my way of thinking." He's not going to budge on this. And if he can't bring us around to his way of thinking, I believe that he'll give up a second term rather than give in.
Simple. They accepted the reality of the situation a LOOONNNNG time ago,and we are just now starting to creep up on it. That reality is that Joe and Jane Sixpak don't give a damn. Yeah,a few of us do,but our numbers are insignificant.
OK folks, you can rant here. But, you'd better be heard by your reps if you expect it to make any difference. Log on here and give them a piece of you mind.

He hastens the death of both the USA as a sovereign nation, and particularly, as Old Hickory pointed out above, the oft vaunted American middle class. The latter is a means to achieve the former. We middle class Americans, especially those that are acutely aware of our sovereignty , are anathema to the overall plan; which is to turn the world into a collective of economic zones, irrespective of any former sovereign nations. We in the current USA will probably live in the northern portion of the American economice zone, which would run from the Great White North down to the Cape of Good Hope. Right now, we're just footing the bill for the mass relocation of third world peasants inside our borders, which will speed the whole process along.
Yes, isn't that a joke? Our government has never ONCE shown ANY ability to effectively manage immigration...EVER. Remember Reagan's amnesty? It was only supposed to cover some 200,000 illegals. By the time Congress finished butchering the legislation, which Reagan foolishly signed, they had stripped out just about all the restrictive measures Reagan wanted. The result...at least 3 million aliens got amnesty. This is why I am even against "guest worker" programs where an immigrant has to go home after their visa expires. IT NEVER HAPPENS. They find other ways to get around the system or have a kid or two and their stay becomes permanent. Which is another outrage in and of itself.
I am convinced that some great seismic political event must occur that has the power to break the 2 party (actually 1 party) system up to get some much needed and greatly overdue immigration reform. Our current leadership have sold their souls to One World government and will only worsen matters.
I've thought that a couple of states should secede from the union, reclaim themselves, "America", build momentum by reinstating true Constitutional Government, and by other states joining "America" once they realize the potential that it has. However, I'm probably dreaming, and it will probably never happen.
His opinion is worthless and biased.
Then again, why should he care? He and his family will always have their millions and and can afford to live the high life and not have to deal with the negative aspects of illegal immigration like Joe American Public will.
In fact, they help him and his family get even wealthier.
Bump the whole thing. Every word is truth. I get so sick of seeing the "Pray for Our President as he gets his picture made today!!!!!!!!!!!" threads around here. Bush (and, in fairness, all the pols that can afford to let this happen, from the safety of their million dollar lifestyles) is complicit in handing us working stiffs over to a third world future. Jeezus, I knew there was a reason I quit reading FR for a month. so infuriating.
Unfortunately, B, he came into this administration admitting he might only be a one-term prez. He's possibly not concerned about getting re-elected; and if he's not worried about 2004, that makes him unpredictable and unaccountable.
