My personal opinion is, pedophiles should be hanged in the public square at high noon. Yeah! And let's do the same for adulterers and adulteresses and those filled with pride, and those who say nasty things about me, and those who steal, and those who think mean things about their spouses or parents and etc. etc. etc.

Oh dear ...
But we knew this was coming, didn't we?
Don't worry, I'm sure it's all part of a deal AmChurch has cut with the Government to further undermine Rome's authority.

Homosexuals are an entirely different matter. Actions are important where civil authority is concerned. What a person holds in their heart, is a question for heavenly authority.
I have no doubt, that amongst Catholic Priests and Nuns (the same as elsewhere in places of honor) , there are vow honoring persons who if it weren't for their vows, might conduct themselves outside of norms of which I approve. I hope that sinners still find salvation along with atonement.

Great. The AG's office is keeping an eye on the church. This is news in Massachusetts. But, somehow
THIS doesn't seem to get any attention.

I notice that keeping secrets is actually on the high prioity list of the Mass AG when it comes to GovernmentGiven Riley's longtime fealty to the Bulger Crime Family do you find this suprising?

You said that pedophiles should be hung in the town square at high noon. I did not disagree. All I said is that we should do the same with adulterers and adulteresses. What's wrong with that? I can tell you that I am not a pedophile. Are you?

He didn't say that about adulterers, or any of those others you mentioned.

Jesus said that those who "scandalize the little ones" should have a millstone hung around their necks and be thrown into the sea. Don't you think adultery scandalizes "the little ones?"

Rome ceded its authority to the Bishops long ago when it gave them the status of co-Popes. It is not as if Rome has not been aware of this horrible problem, it's simply because they have chosen to ignore it as the Bishop Laws of the Church have done. The American Catholic Church was instituted some 40 years ago with the blessing and permission of Rome.

This happened around Vatican II as they let AmChurch go whole hog with "the spirit of" Vatican II?
Or have you something more specific in mind?

Or have you something more specific in mind? Generally, you are exactly correct, but there are a lot of specifics that I'm sure you are well-aware of.

..."scandalize the little ones"... Just out of curiosity, is scandalize sort of a Catholic word? I mean, I know it's a real word in the dictionary and everything. It's just that of all the people I associate with I can't recall hearing anyone except my Catholic friends use it.
There are a number of words that would tend to be associated with different religions or with being a Freeper, etc. and I was just wondering whether "scandalize" is kind of a Catholic thing.
