Dick Morris is an idiot. He cites traditional voting trends, but fails to realize that people are getting sick and tired of the obstructionist Democrats in the Senate led by a fellow idiot, Tom Daschle.
Everyone is relying on the age old axiom that the party in the White House loses seats in the off-year election. However, I predict, that W will once again debunk the conventional wisdom and pick up seats in both houses of Congress. There is much work to be done for sure but Morris is all wet on the domestic issues. Not sure what polling he is looking at, but I don't believe the Dems have a secure lead in anything anymore. Okay, maybe the environment but that's a pretty fringe group.
Plus, the GOPs hold a 30-50 point lead on national defense and homeland security. With the economy turning around, this will be the number one issue.

The question is whether the GOP have any politicos astute enough to be able to show the average voter that daschle is indeed an obstructionist. Those of us who follow politics know it, but we are only a minority of the voters.
I don't know any political whizes in the GOP. Rove can sell W, but he's not so good at selling the party.
