Coonts is an "established author" so he can publish anything he wants. I need to break in with my own "Flight of the Intruder" (big wish) before I can even think of anything else.
He didn't write the stories, he 'edited' them... remember the Tom Clancey series' that were written by someone else?
Easy money maker for them, just selling names.
