We were told that he was on the ground after he fell from the chopper and from all accounts he was dragged off and shot. I'm not trying to be a wise a$$.

there are several accounts at this time, and Rummy even mentioned the possibility that he was shot on the chopper. Ive read an account on FR that he did not fall but didnt make the liftoff. We may not know for awhile.
