It's a rare day when rural America wins an environmental fight. That's one reason last week's federal government decision to restore water to farmers in the Oregon-California Klamath Basin is so gratifying. Irrigation was cut off last spring after Fish & Wildlife said it would hurt nearby "endangered" sucker fish. But after the National Academy of Sciences peer reviewed the agency's so-called biology, it announced -- to the surprise of few -- that there had been "no sound scientific basis" for the cutoff. Environmental groups are threatening to sue again. But this time, they won't be able to sucker judges with junk science.

This the first major derailment of the enviral nazis rural cleansing programs since the 1970's!
Kudos to AuntB and forester for alerting us of the rural cleansing operation of the vile enviralist in the Klamath Basin.
Kudos to Jeff Head for being our man on the line that 4th of July where things started to happen.
Kudos to all who helped.
Folks, do you think any of this would have happened if not for Free Republic.
We must continue to support Free Republic keep our best weapon against the vile enviral nazis stong and viable!

Absolutely! This is the first of many wins to come.
The enviral nazis have been winning for two decades. We have to reclaim our country with winning one battle at a time.
There will not be a total victory against the enemies of America who are well financed and work 24/7/365 to destroy the fabric of America. It has to be one battle at a time!
This is our cultural war, and we must win the battles to win the war!
Be vigilant...
BTTT
This a reaffirmation of their basic freedom and ours!
Hate to be a spoil sport, but are we really winning?
I don't see the enviro-loonies being tarred and feathered. I don't see the leftists being ridiculed on the streets.
Free Republic continues to be of impact!
Good news.
Well done! *S*
Their story would have never got out if not for Free Republic.
My youngest son lives in Portland, Or and knew nothing of the 10,000 who marched at first to protest the cleansing. The Portland, Or. tv and papers spiked the news.
He flew home for a visit the last week of June and the first week of July. I let him read the truth on Free Republic. He had thought the farmers were terrible people until he read what was on Free Republic. He went back to Portland and got several of his friends involved and on our side!
I shudder to think what would have happened to those poor families in the Klamath basin if not for the support of freepers like Jeff and others and the support here on Free Republic.
Thanks for being part of the Klamath firepower team to stop rural cleansing in the Klamath Basin.
Please step aside and let the men and women who believe in this country enjoy this win!
Then step aside and let us fight our war. We love our country and will fight for it!
In seven more years we will have a ton of victories while you whine and cry!
