Since the 2000 election, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) has had more success constructing alliances across party lines than any politician in recent memory. McCain is now collaborating with Democrats on a stunning array of major policy proposals. It's the political equivalent of Willie Nelson teaming with Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow. McCain has emerged as a one-man fusion movement; he's become the most hyphenated name in Washington.

John F. Kerry....what a self-promoter. So we got JFK and J. McVain joining to advance themselves.

John Mc-Cain and Able needs to resign, what a disgrace. I'm surprised the Arizona Republican Party hasn't demanded it yet.

I expect if R's end up with 50/50 split in the Senate after this fall, McCain will pull a Jeffords.

I got an RNC beg-a-thon in the mail recently. I sent it back and told them as long as McCain and Lott would get RNC money, they weren't going to get a dime from me. I am tired of being stabbed in the back by those two, and said so.

The RNC needs to lose some money from their long-term contributors before they unload those jerks.

McCain is loved by the RATS because they know a turncoat when they see one. He's a sucker being played for a fool. They'll use him and then lose him. He's stupid.

The irony is that McCain is incredibly comfortable in the GOP. I think it is because he likes being thought of a maverick.

McLame practices the most disgusting politics - deception of his party. If he were a Democrap doing this the press would be all over him. But, since he's a RINO endearing himself to the Democraps, the press loves him and encourages his deceptive practices. After all, anything goes when one is discrediting the Republicans.

There is truth to what you say. The Republicans have a history of tolerating self-proclaimed mavericks like McCain. The Democrats tolerate no deviation from the party line and are cleaned out. When was the last time you saw a pro-life Deomcrat? Every one of them, from Gore to Gephardt, even to Jesse Jackson, had to swear a blood oath denying their pro-life views; the alternative is that they wer eout of the party. The irony of all this is that the liberals in the Democratic Party will lecture you that they are the party of openness and tolerance. NOT!! Republicans have always been open to mavericks (although in my view McCain is just a liberal wannabe, and he laps up the fawning press).

I keep saying that McCain and Lieberman are both going to jump parties and become "Independents". It will be a McCain/Lieberman ticket in 2004. McCain is bucking the GOP agenda at every turn and Lieberman is clearly not on board with the war on the war. He's leading the charge, "On to Baghdad". These two need to be watched very carefully.

Yeah, and Marshal Petain, another war hero in his own country, collaborated with the NAZIs.

I'm surprised the Arizona Republican Party hasn't demanded it yet.

If they don't soon the voters will for sure. He is #2 behind ben Laden here in Az. as the most unloved politico.

a plan to use market forces to drive reductions in the gases associated with global warming.

...in the same sense that blackmail and ransom kidnaping "use market forces."

If Lott was a strong leader,McCain would not be able to get away with his pro Democrat behavior. A strong leader would have read McCain the riot act and kept him in line-Lott has allowed the malcontents to flourish. Lott must be replaced with a strong leader, who can squash these traitors before they do damage to the party and the country. Unfortunately, I cannot think of anyone in the Senate who fits that bill, but anyone has to be better than the Hair Club For Men standard bearer.
