I'm going to respond to a theme in your remarks, but addressing this to all, here ---

First, I do not care that Jews may or may not "run the media," or may or may not "run Hollywood."

I do care that the vast majority of Jews who are leftists --- something which even conservative (not a reference here to "orthodox") Jews are all too often unwilling to confront in public --- profess the sanctity of tradition, that is: We are to respect Jewish tradition and other non-ancient Founding Fathers and old dead white guys cultural traditions ... but then such Jews denounce, denigrate, and destroy our American Heritage.

Such a campaign which I have observed growing in intensity against the American people over the last thirty years, said leftist Jews do by way of the considerable power of their media productions, their remarkably "vast left-wing hegemony," which they occupy in a stark proportion of numbers in contrast to the population of our society as a whole, and then they deny such involvement --- all the while protesting, throwing rocks and sticks and stones labled "anti-Semitism" at whosoever may direct such leftists to their own hypocrisies.

Ask David Horowitz; he can relate these matters in greater detail.

Such leftists try to defend their position as Jews, subsuming (borrowing for the politics of the moment) the whole of their race or faith in the public eye, when in fact they are [quite] strictly leftists, some aethistic, some Bolshevists, and as such, should be so referred.

Given that I have a great interest in the history of Judaism and no interest in enshrining any race on the planet . . .

I disagree with said leftist Jews' politics, and I dislike their fraud --- because it conflicts with what they attempt to portray themselves as, people under God and / or people who are kind, when the former is questionable to say the least, and the latter I have found to not be the case, repeatedly. Which is to say, they have a particular habit of lying. I think such deceipt is un-kind.

For example, pick any of the "dream team" of Hillary Clinton's following who just happen to be Jews by faith or by race; they break almost more records at telling lies, than did Hillary, not to mention Bill.

I happen to think that a conscious admission to the possibility that God exists, not to mention a person's hanging on the skirt of a culture constructed on that notion, guides a man to be honest.

Well, among the leftist "Jews," here, they have so far proved to not be honest on several occasions. (See the files of Freeper, Alamo-Girl, regarding the Clinton [Downside] Legacy.)

Second, the other matter about which I find to be hypocritical about leftist Jews, is their fawning over the tragedies of life in Israel under the Arab Gun, where obviously the people must defend themselves, in addition to the lessons of NAZI oppression whereby people were murdered by the millions by bureaucrats abusing the power of government ... there has been again, a rise over the decades, of leftist Jew, and others, who have founded, as well as strongly funded, the pogroms against the American peoples' individual, as well as states', rights to keep and bear Arms.

What I would expect to hear from Jews who are concerned about "firearms safety," therefore, is some support for safe firearms practices by individuals (not to mention by law enforcement!); and I would expect to see safe firearms practices incorporated in the scripts of the "vast" Jewish productions, whether on Broadway or in Hollywood.

We see neither.

For example, we have yet to see the role of our hero character on the police force, return home and properly safe his weapons, or better yet, do so in the presence of one of the characters' children, so as to set a good example. Perhaps even have the character's child be quizzed by "pop" on "OK junior, how does dad safe his police service pistol in the evening?" and then the son informs him. (The N.R.A. could certainly provide some tips, here; maybe even a baseball cap of theirs, sitting on the bedroom dresser. "Fat chance.")

Nope, we're not going to see that. Instead, we --- if we bother to look --- find again a disproportionate (in contrast to society's) population of Jews contributing to, as well as helping during the founding or expansion of, variants of Handgun Control, Inc.

Both in the media and on the matter of the Second Amendment, we find the aforementioned, rather dramatic disproportionate numbers of leftist Jews who are tearing down the foundations of Liberty.

Is it a "conspiracy?" Dont' know; I actually don't care.

Is there a correlation? You might be able to show that; but I don't care to spend the time on it.

However, for the leftist Jews, denying their acts while accusing all who discover, or uncover, their acts against all our Liberty --- as being "anti-Semitic" --- is very disingenuous to say the least.

As a result of their misapplication, the value of the expression, "anti-Semitic," has been going downhill, fast. Much as has the value of the expression, "racism," uttered with the blink of Jesse Jackson's eye.

Over the last two weeks, I have been studying the events of the Holocaust, reviewing the subject which I first encountered almost exactly 40 years ago, as a very young boy reading the book, Auschwitz.

I learned then, and have since been observant of, what really is "anti-Semitism."

This sign in German, "Arbeit macht frei" meaning "Work makes you free" is at the entrance of the Flossenburg Concentration Camp, Flossenburg, Germany, where hundreds of French, Russian, Jewish, and Slav slave labourers died weekly. The camp was discovered by the 97th Div., U.S. 3rd Army.

I do not personally know any man or woman who has forgotten it.

Furthermore, I'd like to point out, that upon discovery of these conditions, the American troops from varied backgrounds which now the leftist Jews denigrate, did what?

Did our troops act anti-Semitically? Did they at Normandy? Did they at Nijmegan? Did they at St. Lo? And then did they at any of the camps?

No.

These troops, from the same culture which leftist Jews now decry as being "anti-Semitic," to the contrary of the socialists' image of our American Heritage which is portrayed by the "liberal media" as being "meanspirited" ... our men could barely tolerate how helpless they felt at being unable to help the people suffering.

Also, I am completely unaware of surveys --- which surely the leftist Jews supporting the Democrat Party have it in their imaginations as having occurred --- were conducted of the men heading into the beaches at Normandy, on June 5 and 6, 1944:

When you come upon the NAZI concentration camps, who among you will object to helping the victims of the NAZI government?

Well, we are unaware of that question being asked; because it was not asked, though that be news to the victims of the "liberal media" which is run by leftists who mock truth and our blessings of Liberty.

Instead, what we get from the "vast left-wing" of "Jews" apparently in name only, is this:

Gun control makes you free.
Abortion makes you free. Free choice ...
To leftist / liberals, that means the "right" to execute their child --- defined as an "abortion" --- and then also define by their engineering of the circumstances of "public education," what will be the fate of other peoples' children.

I think that such a platform of leftist Jews, is a bit too close to denying a holocaust that happened, a holocaust that is happening ... and more to come.

Finally Roger Clegg raises another question, which he puts delicately by writing that "the milieu of Commies is overwhelmingly Jewish and intellectual," which leads him to ask why so many Jewish intellectuals were enamored of the hard Left? It is a very good question, and he gently chastises me for ignoring it in my book. I did so because actually it is a question that others have taken up in many different places, and one that I did not feel was pertinent to discuss in a memoir, which was in fact a recollection of my life which, for better or worse, was lived in that Jewish milieu. Now, however, I wish to attempt a partial and incomplete answer.

My parents? generation ? who came to this country between the turn of the 19^th Century and the years before and after the First World War ? were recent immigrants who landed in the teeming Jewish ghettos like New York City?s now famous and non-existent Jewish Lower East Side. Now the single memory of those years is the Tenement House Museum, which studiously recreates the typical apartment lived in by immigrant Jews during the 1920s and early ?30s. Poor and working-class, they made their living in the garment trades. The famed Triangle Fire of 1911, marked as a milestone in American labor history to this day, took the lives of largely female Jewish workers in the teens and 20?s. Moreover, they came to this country as fervent believers in the ideologies that shaped them in the Old World, Communism, socialism, anarchism, Bundism, labor Zionism and the like. One of the most usual conflicts the young immigrants had was with those of their parents who were deeply religious and pious, and whom they rebelled against by breaking away from what they saw as the religion of the village shtetl, which they unfavorably compared with the modern life of the emancipated and secular Jew of cities like Warsaw. Exploited and alienated, they turned in the New World for hope to both trade unionism and socialism.

Irving Howe, of course, discussed all this in his classic book The World of Our Fathers, which sympathetically and wistfully recalled the old struggles and attitudes. When their children emerged as the New Left of the 1960?s, they automatically carried on the tradition. In fact, their parents had already moved out of the early ghettoes and into the middle and even upper middle class. No longer did they live on Orchard Street, but more likely, in Scarsdale, White Plains or Great Neck in Long Island. But in politics, they carried on their parents? commitments by moving en masse into the New Left. As Kenneth J. Heineman writes (in a book which I will soon review in these pages,) at a time when Jews represented three percent of the US population and ten percent of American college students, 23 percent of young people from Jewish families "embraced the New Left."

In elite institutions like the University of Chicago, a large 63 percent of student radicals were Jewish; Tom Hayden may have been the most famous name in the University of Michigan SDS, but "90 percent of the student left [in that school] came from Jewish backgrounds," and nationally, 60 percent of SDS members were Jewish. As my once-friend Paul Breines wrote about my own alma mater the University of Wisconsin, "the real yeast in the whole scene had been the New York Jewish students in Madison." And he went on to note what he called the "rootless cosmopolitanism" of the Wisconsin New Left.

Heineman attributes this to these Jewish students absorbing a "propensity to social activism" from their Eastern European backgrounds, despite the obvious assimilation of their parents and their own rejection of Judaism as a religion. Confronting what he calls a "culturally ambiguous environment" in this country, Heineman writes that attaining a higher economic status did not make them forsake their view of what a better society should look like. As late as 1946, one-third of America?s Jews held a favorable view of the Soviet Union, which they foolishly thought was progressive because of the Soviet role in the defeat of Hitler, a fact which made them look the other way when Stalin was preparing his own pogrom against the Jews.
