Then I am sure you will equally concur with this statement:

I abhor hypocrisy.
The truth is that liberal Jews join in the trashing of our culture because they are by and large not very Jewish. They have been assimilated into the anti-western, anti-Christian culture of the Left, which did not arise from Judaism but from Gentile rebellion against Christianity in the Enlightenment. Ironically, the Enlightenment despised Christianity because it was too Jewish -- it was a corruption of the pure and universal religion of reason by Jewish "superstition." That's why the leftist Jews in the media are so often hostile to Israel - they have internalized a post-Christian Gentile animus against Jewish particularism.
As for Billy Graham, I think it would be healthy if his admirers would just admit that he was out of line. He's never claimed that he's not a sinner, after all. Billy Graham originally came out of a very unsophisticated background with very limited kind of Christianity. What makes him remarkable is that he has stayed true to the solid core of that form of Christian faith while at the same time exhibiting an extraordinary capacity to listen, learn, and grow.
These unattractive remarks just reflect the limitations of his starting-point. White Christians in the South would say stupid stuff like this in times past, usually in private conversations rather than in public (because at some level people knew it was, well, trashy). I heard it from my own kin as a boy, though my grandmother would have come down on it like a ton of bricks ("I don't want to hear any more of that white trash talk in this house"). It didn't usually go along with any real hatred of Jews. It was a stereotypical kind of dumb thoughtless noise. Which didn't make it right or harmless.
It's reasonable to be disappointed that a prominent minister of the gospel would not have outgrown that sort of talk by that time in Billy Graham's life. It is also reasonable to hope that he has outgrown it by now.
What would be your reaction to the following statement:

I may get killed for this, but here we go. When did we get so, er, lily-livered? My father, a hard-working man and a decorated combat vet in WWII, regularly referred to his acquaintances with ethnic insults - to the point where being called a "Jew Bastard" by him implied a kind of respect for intelligence. These insults of course were slung right back at him - "stupid donkey mick" - with equal enjoyment. Nobody's feelings were hurt, it was all part of the grand old New York City tradition.

LOL. I promised myself I'd stay off this thread, but you have to admit if AITF was created by the Jewish media to demonize the Christian white man (no one here said it) that's one Jewish media controller who really *crewd up. Archie became a hero.
For instance, considering the horror Jews experienced at Hitler's hands, why are so many of them so far to the left? It was an honest question. The answer had to do with the different backgrounds of Russian Jews and Western European Jews.
I see that conversation as more of a politcal leaning than a religious leaning. Remember, this was not a PC time. Jew, Hymie, Pollack, Nigger, Honkie, Mick, Wetback were heard all of the time. NO, it was not right, but it was.
At any rate, not excusing either of them for the conversation, before I make a big deal out of it, let him without this particular sin cast the first stone. We have all been guilty of saying something anti-ethnic at least once. Anyone that says they haven't is lying.
Absolutely. I'm sure some of the Jews who use this as an excuse to attack Billy Graham have made plenty of crude anti-Christian comments in private. I'm damn sick of the self-rigteousness of sensitivity police. Besides, you have had a lot of Jewish media types who have combined both a Jewish and a liberal contempt for Christianity. So, it's really hard to argue with what Billy Graham said. In fact, I find his comments refreshing.
