Well, I'm drained. I saw the movie. Wow! I also signed the petition. Is "Garry Owen Sir" a song from Custer's days? That's what I got so far. What was the song about?

...ALOHA abigail2 ...Apologies for getting back to you so late. We were told that GARRY OWEN was a 15th Century Guerilla Hero of Gen. CUSTER upon arrival at Ft. Benning GA before leaving for Vietnam in 1965. Turns out it is an old Scottish Limerick Song that caught the fancy of CUSTER when he first heard it, liked it and left it in ...his own 7th Cavalry Regiment.
