I don't care what you believe, but why on earth would I make it up? I made it very clear that he didn't tell me it was a hard, cold fact; just what he had heard.

I believe the "lifestyle comments", have hit a nerve with some on FR. It seems that those who attack folks with a negative feeling for the parents are also those who defend other alternative lifestyles as free speech, for the most part.
Your response to this has been lucid and clear. I appreciate your tone and your well thought out argument. As for myself, I continue to wait for LE to finish their work. I also continue to have little or no respect for the parents in this matter and will continue to make my feeling known, regardless of personal attacks.
"Secondary source" does NOT mean "liar". It merely means "in addition to the primary (first) source".
I am simply pointing out, that the internet is largely anonymous. You and I do not know each other from Adam. I am sure you are being honest about what your LE son heard. My point is, that it does not rise to the level of being verifiable, honorable reputation or no, it is still second hand hearsay from an internet forum. And in two weeks of research, your post was the closest I've seen to a secondary source.
I have faithfully read every link to an article handed me and every last one has cited RR's radio show of Fri. 2-9-02 as its source for the swing angle. There has been no other independent investigative reporting, no interviews, no other claims of "leaks" or "anonymous officials". That is a red flag.
The horse I'm riding here isn't about the VD's really. It's about Freepers not trusting to the validity of single source journalism. Rick Robert's must be ecstatic, he's gotten himself cited in every major rag nationwide, by NAME and STATION. Pretty slick, eh?
Of course, he has also handed the defense a very nice bat to pound the parents with.
