Savage on Campaign Finance Reform CFR - I don't get it
me
Posted on 02/22/2002 11:04:07 AM PST by fishtank
Could a Freeper who agrees with what I write here try to call Michael Savage and ask him to reconsider his support for CFR -Campaign Finance Reform?
I can only see that CFR will harm the efforts of grass-roots organizations like various pro-life organizations, small business lobby organizations, the NRA (National Rifle Association), etc.
What do you all think?

Do you have a Doctorate? If not, then how can you possibly challenge his intellect?I don't have a Doctorate, but I do have a brain.
I can easily challenge Savage on several issues because he is completely clueless on about 40 % of what he talks about. He is very, very good on several topics, that's why I listen to him.
You ask: how do I know this?
I have ears.
BTW, there are plenty of Doctorates who pump your gas and bag your groceries

Savage is a nobody and a deranged being!
Why are you drawn to him he was here in NYC WABC for a few times and drove us to rid of him.
There is enough that disturbed one with out intentionally subjecting oneself to it.

Savage AGREES with CFR? He's not on here yet, but perhaps Michael means real CFR, not the "eradicate Free Speech" section which is a breathtakingly unconstitutional attack on our Republic. Sometimes though, he can really get turned around in the wrong direction. Like his changing views on the War. Usually I find him on target. But mercurial.

You been in the tank to long CFR would hinder you from using the NRA and any other outlet 30-60 days before voting time when people start to listen to the election.
CFR gags the little voice not the elite already entrench in power.

Rush says it's a constitutional issue, but that's simply because it's his ox being gored. How is Rush gonna be affected by this? He knows there's no way in h*** the courts would let stand an attempt to squelch someone like him.
No, Rush knows--even if you can't figure it out--that it's going to be the "special interests" like our local "Justice For All" (a victims' rights group) that is even now running ads against one of the Republican primary candidates for State Senate--ads that would be illegal under Shays-Mehan.
Above all, CFR is about protecting incumbents from people actually commenting on their sorry-a** records.

Why is it confusing to listen to various opinions? You just have to decide who has the better argument.
To: fishtank
Tell me when you morality conservatives have gotten anything but lip service from any so-called conservative administrations. This current administration is one big circle jerk of bigtime oil and gas producers. They don't give a moments thought to any of the issues that motivate you. But they are happy to get your votes by duping you into believing you're going to get something from them.

I would take your opinion
of Michael Savage's intellect more seriously
if you knew
how to spell
and
how to write grammatically correct sentences.

He didn't put down Rush Limbaugh by name, and he never does. He puts down other "prominent right-wing hosts who toe the party line". Since Rush is one of those people, Savage has INDIRECTLY referred to him, as well as many other hosts I can think of. (Mike Reagan, etc.)
Well, sorry, but Savage HAS indeed put down Rush by name. I recall at least two times where Savage said that Rush was "losing it", and once where Savage said Rush always sucks up to GWB (despite times where I have heard Rush saying something he differed with GWB on).

The reason Savage put down Rush is because he's jealous of him

In fact, many of his political opinions are fascistic -- such as his pontification of jailing nuclear scientists for two year, completely denying them their Constitutional Rights to build government projects. Wrong, in his ad, the scientists VOLUNTEER to build missile defense.....having said that, I still disagree with Savage about CFR.

Tell me when you morality conservatives have gotten anything but lip service from any so-called conservative administrations. Fair enough. But if the votes were there, the politicos would listen.
Not enough people are convinced that some issues are vital. I don't consider it to be the politicians job to do the educating and convincing, though, just FYI.

"... Savage represents Savage, period." Exactly. Just as McCain represents McCain.
Savage and McCain are both savvy, cynical opportunists.
And Savage is being disengenuous/dishonest when he says "we need campaign finance reform because we need to get the money out of politics", like he said last night on his radio program. He knows better.
But since there is a never ending supply of those Marx called, "useful idiots" out there in la la land, McCain and Savage will be able to laugh all the way to the bank.
