My story along these lines is, once my Z's T-tops were stolen and they were engraved with not for resale and the VIN numbers. The Houston policeman, who read the report (they don't come out, you file a report) said; " Well, we know they can't read English".

Out east, where I am, drug stores and convience stores started posting signs about arresting and prosecuting and video monitoring criminals in Spanish.
