I noticed something about the letter their attorney sent. It mentions damages to the car and injuries to the passengers, but it neglects to mention the fate of the poor deer! I thought that PETA's main concern would be for the innocent woodland creature. But no; they're more bent about their bent car than about a lousy, tick-infested deer.

These guys are out of the loop, they don't increase deer populations for hunters, the damned white tail breed like rabbits and have no natural predators left in much of the united states! No state is artificially increasing herd sizes! What absolute nonsense.... I have nearly hit deer dozens of times, never did I assume it was "fleeing a hunter" the damned things just walk out in the road, and then especially at night just stare at your car as you bear down on em.

You have a mind like a steel trap. Mine is made of steel also, but unfortunately its more like a colander...

Nice first post.

Thanks for this post. In Ohio, hunting is allowed only between sunup and sundown. Hunting at 1 AM would be poaching. It would be interesting to know what New Jersey's hunting laws actually say.

My deepest condolences to the DEER! The Deer's family OUGHTA sue the S*** out of PETA for reckless driving! See how STUPID this sounds, that's exactly how stupid the action by Peta sound!

OK, I've thought about it another half hour and am still stunned. There is no way this is real. There is no way these folks are this stupid.
However, if it is real, we need to get this out to everybody, just so they can see how crazy these folks are.
Rush, are you listening?
To: T. P. Pole
i didn't think it was real either, i went to peta's website and circumnavigated it till i came to the story just to make sure. Thought it was a good article but didn't think it would have generated this much response.

Well, now you've answered MY question. Why do I see deer out so late at night: obviously running from you!

In West Virginia we killed over 200,000 deer during the last hunting season. There's less than 2,000,000 people living in the state. In my county we killed almost one deer for every resident. The state deer population has to be greater than the human population.
On my property I know most of the deer are still here. They've eaten out all of the underbrush in the woods. Together with a friend we kill five to seven deer legally every year and we're not even putting a dent in the deer herd numbers. That doesn't count the two deer I hit on the highway last year.
Even the state is now saying not enough antlerless deer were killed in the past season. State DNR's have mismanged deer populations for decades. Everyone wants a buck with a big rack and the does are breeding like rabbits.
I can only hope that more PETA a_holes meet more deer "playing" in the road. I hope they hit a doe.

So Typical! Liberals never accept responsibility for their actions. It must be someone else's fault.
