I've met the Lord Jesus. The Spirit testifies to my spirit that I am a son of God.
What I am saying and what you should naturally understand is that even if you claim to worship Jesus and you are only worshipping something of your own imagination the you are committing the evil of Idolatry. It matters not that your idol has the same name as the One true God.
Now, I will testify that the Bible is the only Authority that one can rely on to understand who God is. And that Authority says that if you worship idols that your prayers will not be heard and that the face of my Lord will be against you.
The 'golden rule' is not for Christians only, it is for all humans.
Although I do like it when non-Christians follow the golden rule, moral behavior benefits only the morally upright in heart. Unless you have the Morning Star rising in your heart, then you are morally bankrupt despite any adherence to any moral behavior. i.e. good just will not cut it.
Luckily, this will all work itself out when we die.
This is a certainty. For those of us who have Christ, we will be the sons of God and will glorify Him through our enjoyment of Him forever. He is a Servant, our great Workman, and He will never give up that glory!
For those who have rejected Him, they will look upon Him while they burn forever in the Lake of Fire, where their worm does not die.
What specifically makes you think that you do worship the True God and not some vain idol?
I have to admit that my first reaction to this was, "People who act like you make me pretty sure."
Now, I will testify that the Bible is the only Authority that one can rely on to understand who God is.
Given your second statement here, what is the relevance of the first?
