So they find out what's on the paperwork; fill out a piece of paper and save it for when the state officials ask for it. BTW, if it's a STATE law, how does the BATF get involved?

That's a unique way to get to the means.
Maybe they can make drive through emmissions test stalls only big enough to get a geo metro through. That ought to take care of those SUVs.

The headline implies something other than what the article states. As I read it, the new law creates a delay--not a prohibition--of gun sales.

"Here's a list of all arms owners in Oregon. Now go collect them - for the good of the socialist whole."
Welcome to the new Untited Socialist States of America. Raise the flag of the hammer and sickle for the pledge.
I hope the NRA is onto this.
Give 'the collective' an inch, and they'll take the whole country.

Justice delayed is justice denied.
A right delayed is a right denied.

During the period when they don't have paperwork, then there is a prohibition.
This was also done during the Clinton presidency when the FBI computer system "broke down" and couldn't be fixed while the Brady bunch ran their demonstrations.

Incrementalism is not so incremental?
Thin entering wedge been doubled?
Nearly reached the drop-off point of The Slippery Slope?
The camel about to run off with your tent?

I don't own a gun but I do believe that it is every American's right to own one if they want to. Making guns illegal to buy will not hurt criminals because they rarely get legally anyway. Say no to Oregon and prtect your right to bear arms.

It appears to be a regulation of gun ownership...not a ban. Depending on how it is implemented, it may not be a big deal..unless you are a felon trying to buy a gun. Any felon who wants a gun can get one. No pesky paperwork, waiting periods or background checks. And, a stolen gun is less expensive than one bought at retail.
Out of all the gun purchases ever prevented by by "gun control" how many were real bad guys and how many were people with a very old conviction who have been straight for many, many years? How many were people who were convicted of a misdemeanor, but because of new interpretations where they would be ineligible if the sentence could have been, not was, greater than a year?
One tenth the amount the liberals force us to spend on "gun control" spent improving really dangerous things, like railroad crossings for instance, would save more lives each year than the total lost to firearms.
